Home About Us Golf Club History Championship Tradition

Welcome to Baltusrol Golf Club

“I shall always count Baltusrol among my favorite courses – it is certainly one of the finest in the world. Part of its greatness is its extreme fairness, which has made the course such an accurate test of golfing ability and the perfect venue for seven U.S. Open Championships. Significant, too, is that throughout its years the Club’s members have always respected the stature of their golf course and have sought to ensure that it has been maintained to perfection.

I hope the game that has given us all such tremendous pleasure will be preserved and enjoyed for generations to come, and I hope that Baltusrol will thrive and prosper for another hundred years.”

-- Jack Nicklaus, U.S. Open Champion at Baltusrol, 1967 & 1980
(reprinted from his Preface to Baltusrol’s Centennial Book)

Since these words were penned over ten years ago, Baltusrol Golf Club indeed has continued to thrive and prosper. The courses have attained a level of conditioning and playability rarely seen in the world of golf. In 2000, the U.S. Amateur Championship marked the fifteenth USGA national championship played at Baltusrol. In all, seven U.S. Opens have been played on these grounds. In 2005, Baltusrol hosted its first PGA Championship, one of the most successful majors ever conducted at Baltusrol; in 2016, the PGA Championship will return for a second time.
